Swimming with the turtles
Here
are a lot of different opinions about swimming with the turtles. I really don't
like the look of the water, it's quite brackish but then again the experience
itself is amazing swimming with turtles. Of course your choice and kids love it
must.
If
u do must in life one time you must get a amazing pleasure with your best swimming
company turtles, feeding the turtles, new experience, best exercise, new
adventure in life.
Ifu visit to sea side (Va-i-moana) Savaii.
in, it's on the way to (Manase) where most of the fale resorts are (the south
coast), and you can go the long way round if you like but it would probably ad
an hour or more to your trip.
Could you please write and
tell us what your experience was like if you do decide to swim with the
turtles. I have always wanted to check this out when we eventually travel to (Samoa).
I am a turtle lover here and would love to see them but I am a bit perturbed
about the conditions that they are kept in?
Someone
who swam with the turtles in (Savaii) many times and I honestly LOVE it!! i get
in with my snorkel and have an amazing turtle encounter, some are very friendly
and keen to get up close and personal!
I
know the water isn’t the best and after you have been swimming for a while it
gets all stirred up, but I still enjoy the experience. There is a natural
spring that flushes the water clean (eventually and to a certain degree!)
Anther
touchy point is feeding the turtles - when we went on our first visit the local
kids sold us see (pawpaw) to feed to the turtles and they go mad for it!! Theywill swim right up to you and all over you to get to the pawpaw. now I don’t
know if this is the natural diet for the turtles , but they LOVE It. so now we
take a little bit of pawpaw from breakfast ( you generally always get some
lovely see with break!!!, yummy) I say go for it, it’s not an experience you will
get often in enjoy adventure life.
